The golden circle rule is design by Simon Sinek. Initially, Apple products used this theory. |
Many aspects are using this theory after Apple products applied it. For example:
- Personal Branding
- Career Planning
- Presentation Design
- Marketing Plans
There are three layers of the theory and differentiate by the inner, middle, and outer layers. |
1st Layer (Inner Layer): Why?
Purpose or Idea; Explain the meaning behind doing something.
2nd Layer (Middle Layer): How?
Specific operation method; Guidance or teaching, how to perform a task.
3rd Layer (Outer Layer): What?
Results or Superficial aspect; State a thing from the surface of a person or an object.

Sometimes we have a strong understanding of what we are doing. When we are assigned to work on a task, we understand and know how to implement it. But sometimes, we may not understand "why" we need to do it. |
Here is the main point:
When we don't know why we need to do the task, it will affect the ways we work. When we are very clear about the purpose, it helps us easier to accomplish the task. |
When we assign a task,
Firstly we will know "what" is it. Secondly, we need to understand how to implement it. Lastly, we must always think about the reason for "why" we need to do. |
In conclusion, we could apply the theory in our daily life and always focus on "why" we need to do it. |
